SMKA

808-blake
SMKA Productions was formed by producers 808 Blake, 7King and manager Mike Walbert, in December 2008. In a little over a year they have managed to change the environment in the underground, Atlanta hip-hop community. Their very first project - The 808 Experiment: Vol 1 - featuring 25 talented underground hip-hop artists won Creative Loading’s “Best Local Mixtape of 2009” award. Creative Loafing claimed SMKA “had reclaimed Atlanta’s hip-hop identity.” SMKA conceptualized and produced 5 projects in 2009 and worked with over 50 artists, including: Nappy Roots, Bone Crusher, El Da Sensei, Gripplyaz, A.leon Craft, Pill, Hollyweerd, Outasight, Yelawolf and many others.

In addition, SMKA has worked with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, producing a song for their “Concerts for Young Peoples” series that was performed live by the ASO in 18 shows for over 50,000 students. SMKA has also produced music for commercials and is currently scoring a film called “23 Seconds.”
